[MISSION] 48: Of Cherry Blossoms and Dialogue Stealing

Spin-off: Four Demonly Kings
Mission canon(s): Disney Fairies | Tinker Bell
Part 4 of: Colour Swap arc

The search for the second ingredient begins into another continuum.

The fic, titled "Tinker Bell (OC Inserts)", doesn't fully belong to Val_the_Wolf as it contains significant amounts of regurgitated and copy-pasted canon, but they're welcome to whatever they've actually created.

Chapter 1

  • A fragment of the night
  • Perfume of daylight
  • A seed of time
  • Cloth of fleetingness

The Four Demonly Kings had obtained their first antidote ingredient, but it was far from time for celebration. RC 381 and RC 🤘 had to be intensively fumigated and Kaguya had to waste much of his expensive perfume in order to get rid of the exquisite odour brought about by Akira the Sue's sweat. Topping it all off was the fact the agents plus Inasuke's minis eventually had to go to bed that night with their hair and eyes still in the wrong colours.

Then came the next day, and the agents, by then thoroughly tired of the smell of cherry blossom perfume and itching to have their colourings returned as quick as possible, practically jumped at the sound of a [BEEEEP].

They entered a world of lushly flowering meadows and crystal clear brooks, bathed in the glow of magic and the twinkle of pixie dust. The target continuum was Pixie Hollow, ever beautiful, ever vulnerable to badfic. As before, the agents split up in order to both collect charges and hunt for an ingredient, though the members on each team were different this excursion.

Val's POV

[…]

Just then, two dandelion petals land in the center of the pixie dust tree.

I was surprised to see two petals. I have usually seen one fairy born at a time, but not two.

Anyways, Terence, a dust keeper fairy, flies over to the flower petals and pours pixie dust on them.

The two dandelion petals transform into two fairies. A boy and a girl. They both have yellow hair, so I can assume that they are siblings.

"Charge for plagiarism, plagiarism and more plagiarism. This is literally Tink's arrival scene in the first movie with an obnoxious Stu horning in on it and an obnoxious Sue narrating it," from a higher branch, said a short boy fairy of wavy black hair. "Besides, Tink already has a canonical twin. Charge for replacing Periwinkle too!"

"Oh, the formatting is painful. Look at all these paragraphs!" replied a female fairy with brown hair next to him. "Besides, I don't think having same-coloured hair is enough proof that they're siblings. What does that make of black-haired couples who marry?"

Everyone start cheering for Tinker Bell and Manic the Stu, who are now tinker fairies.

"Whoa, never seen one glow that much before." Silvermist says as she, Iridessa, Fawn, and Rosetta fly over and sit next to me.

"Yeah. Even for Vidia." I add while glancing at Vidia, who was sitting with the other fast flying fairies.

"Dear me, I could've been back in my room watching the movie itself. It's much more beautiful, much more expressive, and the characters aren't constantly interrupted and having their dialogues stolen by irritating Sues. Who do they think they're fooling? The 'even for Vidia' line is spoken by Silvermist in the movie," Inasuke said. Thoroughly bored, he briefly distracted himself from the main spectacle to gaze at the waterfall of pixie dust cascading like a golden bridal veil. "What did we do to deserve this? Do we really need to go through all this garbage while we're trying to get a vacation?"

"Don't worry, we can work through this. We'll get our colourings back and get our vacation," Momoka said. "Speaking of which, I hope Kaguya-sama and Urato-kun are alright."

"This, this sack of dumb muscle," cried a sparrow man of long red hair. He was struggling to fly carrying a much taller white-haired man by the arm, as though the bigger man was a sack loaded with rocks. "I'll make sure you pay for this!"

The ingredient hunt team encountered both a blessing and a curse. For their first destination, they flew eastward from the Pixie Dust Tree, into the spring meadows. They soon found all around them vast stretches of great towering cherry blossom trees, silver moonlight filtering through layers and layers of silken pink flowers, the soft glow from fairy houses here and there adding a touch of warmth; this was a sight more entrancing than the hanami spot at the foot of Himeji Castle. However, this was not the best news the agents received. Once an intact flower, then larger than the agents' faces, fell on top of Kaguya's head, the list scroll snuck out of the two's Bag, opened itself, and the item "cloth of fleetingness" disappeared. Their objective complete, they only had to reunite with their two partners.

But it was less simple than it seemed.

One might remember that just before the mission, RC 381 and RC 🤘 reeked of cherry blossom. Here amongst thousands of blooming cherry trees, it was slightly worse: the scent was woven into the air, laced into every gust of wind. Urato, not one for "cutesy" or "pretty" fragrances, eventually gave out and fainted mid-flight, and would have free-fallen were it not for Kaguya catching him.

Muttering alien gibberish, Kaguya sluggishly hauled Urato through the woods, his flight jittery and unbalanced from the fic's bad paragraphing.

Chapter 2

"I can't believe I played Fairy Gala events without knowing it's based on something this beautiful. I should start watching the Tinker Bell movies," Momoka said, feeling the wind through her hair. "It seems even more beautiful than last time I was here."

Soft grass swayed in the clear morning air, the rustling of leaves and the twittering of birds created a calming symphony. "Pixie Hollow is indeed heavenly. Getting to visit it in person is a dream come true," Inasuke said, stroking the head of a ladybug that had landed next to him, "I hope I can visit more often. There are a ton of places I haven't seen yet."

"If that's the case, why don't we take our vacation here? You'll have plenty of time to explore then."

Momoka was then quickly confused: Inasuke blushed and turned to look at the ladybug rather than her. He then blurted out, "You know, I'm not sure about going on vacation here. Maybe someplace else."

"But why? Don't you really like it here?" Momoka asked.

But instead of answering her, Inasuke pointed upward and cried, "Look, the Sues are coming! And they're still copying the movie word-for-word!"

We pass by a few fairies getting ready for Spring. Iridessa and the light fairies are making rainbows, Rosetta is collecting flower seeds, and Fawn and the animal fairies are painting the ladybugs.

"Come on, Tinkerbell and Manic. You need to see where we live." I say as I fly ahead.

We fly over a hill full of pink flowers and hover above where we live.

"Welcome to Tinkers Nook." I say to Tinkerbell and Manic.

"The copying is that bad?" Momoka said after prying Tinkers Nook the mini-sprinting thistle from her notepad. "I hope we're not getting sued for copyright infringement just for missioning this fic."

Carrying Urato around proved quite exhausting even with the help of antigravity pixie dust, and Kaguya eventually had to stop and rest for fear that his arms would fall off. Unfortunately, the tree branch he picked was not as strong as he expected, and so it snapped under the two's weight. Their free fall was cushioned by a bush, but a rain of acorns greeted them when their heads poked out of the leaves. One acorn made a sharp conk upon contact with Kaguya's head, leading to a long garbled rant from him.

The two were, without a doubt, lost. Kaguya discovered far too late that they had forgotten to pack an extra RA, and that meant they could not simply portal to wherever their two friends were. He had no choice but to keep hauling Urato through unfamiliar stretches of forests and meadows, hoping he'd catch sight of the other two somewhere.

Kaguya shot a burning scowl at his unconscious partner-cum-arch-enemy. Ultimately, this entire arduous quest was all due to that plan for a vacation. It was Urato and Inasuke who suggested the idea and insisted on it; were it not for them, they wouldn't have part-timed at that café and Kaguya wouldn't have been compelled to take that fateful pill.

Chapter 3

Iridessa grabs Tinkerbell's face and lifts her up. "Wait, wait, wait. Okay. If she's red, raise the head. If she's pale, raise the tail." She turns Tinkerbell's face to Rosetta, Fawn, and Silvermist. "Does she look pale or red?"

I
(Val the Sue) stand next to the girls as they stare at Iridessa and Tinkerbell. "She's perfectly fine, Iridessa," I say.

"Sorry," Iridessa mutters before dropping Tinkerbell again.

Manic takes the opportunity to walk up to Tinkerbell and help her up. "There you go, sis," he says.

Unbeknownst to the canons and Sues, two fairies bore witness to their antics from behind a rock. "Should we go look for Kaguya-sama and Urato-kun?" Momoka said. "We've observed the fic long enough, and I don't think there's much else to do if it just consists of copying anyway."

"And killing the movie's humour to boot. Yep, we can call it a day now; I'll charge them, and you can find Hazama-sempai and Ura-chan… Wait! No! Something's falling!"

Inasuke's sudden shout drew the attention of all characters present – for all of three seconds before Val the Sue and Manic the Stu were hit by two large falling objects and fell flat to the ground. These falling objects were, in fact, two sparrow men – one a tall, dark-skinned, white-haired lad, one a slender, pale-skinned, red-haired fellow. Both were soaked in berry juice and pulp, and the white-haired was unconscious.

Momoka and Inasuke rushed out of their hiding spot. Kaguya weakly craned his neck and called out something, to which Momoka replied, "You've found an ingredient… but what happened to Urato-kun?"

"Ura-chan is a total idiot! I told you not to let your Pixie Dust run out! Besides, how did you pass out cold like this?" Inasuke said. "Now for something more important: Val the Sue and Manic the Stu, you're under arrest by the PPC for crimes against fanfiction. Charges against you include regurgitating the movie and stealing other characters' canon dialogues; replacing Periwinkle, Tink's canonical twin; being named honest-to-gods Manic; horrible formatting; creating a brain-numbingly boring story that sucks the soul out of the canon story you're blithely plagiarizing; and, most of all, being pointless Sues. You will now be executed."

"Oi, what happened? Howza mission?" Urato said, bolting up from his Medical infirmary bed surrounded by his friends. "Got 'ny ingredient?"

"The mission was a success and we also found another ingredient – all of which you fortunately slept through," coldly replied Kaguya, who was wearing the same hospital gown as Urato's. "Don't think you're getting away with making me haul your unconscious body around, you heavy idiot!"

"Kaguya-sama, please calm down and get proper rest," Momoka said. "We still have two more ingredients to hunt."
